Beef and Marinade
- 1 lb beef, cut into strips, cubes, or thin slices (flank, sirloin, or ribeye)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce for marinade
- 1 tablespoon rice wine for marinade
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil for marinade
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch for marinade
- 1 teaspoon sugar for marinade
Vegetables and Seasoning
- 4 oz pepper of choice (bell pepper, jalapeño, poblano, etc.)
- 4 oz onion, cut into chunks or thin slices
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Cooking Steps
Slice or cube beef to your liking. Cut peppers and onions to your preferred shape. Prep scallions, ginger, and garlic.
In a bowl or zip-top bag, mix beef with soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, cornstarch, and sugar. Let marinate for 15–30 minutes.
Heat oil in a large nonstick pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add ginger and beef. Stir-fry until mostly browned. Remove from pan.
Add more oil if needed. Stir-fry garlic, peppers, and onions for 2–3 minutes until just tender.
Return beef to pan. Add scallions and oyster sauce. Stir-fry for 1–2 minutes more until everything is coated and beef is cooked through.
Enjoy hot with rice or cauliflower rice!
