Ingredients
  

Meatballs

  • 1 bag Frozen Meatballs Beef, chicken, or pork are recommended.

Aromatics

  • 2 large Yellow Onions
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 8 oz Mushrooms Sliced

Broth and Sauces

  • 4 cups Low-Sodium Beef Broth
  • 1 packet Brown Gravy Mix Or substitute with a can of gravy.
  • 1 tablespoon White Wine Vinegar Can substitute with red wine vinegar.
  • 2 tablespoon Corn Starch For thickening the sauce.

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme Or substitute with Italian seasoning, oregano, or basil.

Cheese

  • 1 cup Gruyere Cheese Or substitute with Provolone, Fontina, or mozzarella.

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • Add frozen meatballs to the crock pot.
  • Layer sliced onions, garlic, and mushrooms over the meatballs.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, brown gravy mix, white wine vinegar, and thyme.
  • Pour the mixture over the meatballs and vegetables in the crock pot.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
  • Sprinkle Gruyere cheese on top and cover until melted before serving.

Notes

Serve the meatballs with crusty bread or over mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
