Hamburger Steaks
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1.5 cups saltine crackers crushed
- 1 cup whole milk
- 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- all-purpose flour for dredging
Gravy
- 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup 10.75 oz. each
- 1.5 cups whole milk
- 1.5 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350F.
Make the gravy and set it aside. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, and parsley until well blended.
To make the hamburgers, combine ground beef, crushed saltines, milk, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and salt and pepper to taste.
Using your hands, or a fork, mix all ingredients together, divide into 6-8 portions and make patties.
Dredge each patty in flour to coat all sides lightly.
In a cast-iron skillet that has been lightly oiled, brown patties on both sides.
Once patties are browned, pour prepared gravy on top of them.
Cover skillet with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.
