Ingredients
  

Hamburger Steaks

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1.5 cups saltine crackers crushed
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • all-purpose flour for dredging

Gravy

  • 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup 10.75 oz. each
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 1.5 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Make the gravy and set it aside. In a medium-sized bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, and parsley until well blended.
  • To make the hamburgers, combine ground beef, crushed saltines, milk, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Using your hands, or a fork, mix all ingredients together, divide into 6-8 portions and make patties.
  • Dredge each patty in flour to coat all sides lightly.
  • In a cast-iron skillet that has been lightly oiled, brown patties on both sides.
  • Once patties are browned, pour prepared gravy on top of them.
  • Cover skillet with aluminum foil and bake for 35 minutes.
